From the western German city of Aachen comes one of the most distinctive gingerbreads out there — Printen. They don’t have much in common with North American gingerbread, but they have everything to do with our family story.
My dad — our kids’ Opa — lived in Aachen and would send these to us every holiday season. So yes, they’re extra special.
